LA 2024 Releases virtual trip of proposed Venues

LA 2024 has released new renderings showing what some of its venues would look like if the group wins its bid to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic summer Games. The renderings and video trip focus on what would be a “Downtown sports Park,” one of four clusters of events the organization is proposing to the international Olympic committee in its bid.

The venues include Los Angeles City Hall and Grand Park, which would serve as Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Estados Unidos a backdrop for Olympic cycling, marathon, and race/walk, and Paralympic marathon and road cycling, as well as the Los Angeles Convention Center, which would host Olympic fencing, boxing, taekwondo, and table tennis, and Paralympic boccia, goalball, table tennis, wheelchair fencing and wheelchair Camiseta Sao Paulo FC rugby. The downtown area would also include several events around L.A. Live, including Olympic basketball and Paralympic wheelchair basketball at Staples center and Olympic weightlifting and IPC Powerlifting at the nearby Microsoft Theater. Meanwhile, the campus of USC would see heavy use, including track and field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and swimming, diving and synchronized swimming at a Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Dinamarca short-term pool that would be constructed at Dedeaux Field, typically a baseball stadium. The campus would also serve as media housing and the site of the main press center.

“L.A. is the best choice for 2024 because our city can host the games without having to build any new permanent venues or an Olympic and Paralympic Village,” LA 2024 Chairman Casey Wasserman said. “I am thrilled to share these virtual trips of our world-class venues, to demonstrate how LA 2024 is prepared to offer the lowest-risk and sustainable service for the future of the Olympic movement, and an unforgettable Olympic festival experience for everyone in 2024.”
